At TFC Podiatry, we understand that kids’ feet are very complex. Many children develop some form of foot pain or concern during their developmental years.
Your child depends on having pain free, healthy feet, to ensure they stay active and don’t refrain from day-to-day activities and exercise. It is best to have your child’s feet checked to ensure small problems don’t turn into big ones. Our team of friendly paediatric podiatrists take a gentle approach, as we want to ensure both parents and children feel comfortable and cared for.

Your kid’s podiatrist will conduct a thorough medical history and check that developmental milestones are being met. Your child’s initial assessment will involve:
Gait analysis involving the assessment of your child’s foot posture while walking.
Joint flexibility testing: involves assessing for hypermobility.
Screening for ankle instability.
Assessing balance and coordination
Foot and leg muscle strength testing.
Biomechanical assessment: checking for any abnormalities in the way the foot and leg function throughout the gait cycle.
Footwear assessment and recommendation
We recommend an assessment if your child is experiencing any of the following symptoms.
Foot or ankle pain
Knee pain
Hip or lower back pain that may be related to their foot posture
