There are lots of different reasons for foot pain in children. All pain reported by children should be treated seriously & promptly investigated.

Pain may be due to poor foot posture and biomechanics of the lower limb causing musculoskeletal imbalance. Other reasons can include conditions such as inflammation of growth plates, tarsal coalitions, tendonitis and several more.

It is important that a full Paediatric Podiatry assessment is completed to identify the cause of pain. This will involve taking a thorough history, testing joint range of motion and performing a thorough visual lower limb gait analysis.
